Who knows?
This is the first song I remember being sung to me. I must have been about three years old.
It was written by Jay Livingston and Ray Evans who also wrote “Mona Lisa” and the ever-popular Mr. Ed theme song.

Yes. And it was in the movie the High and the Mighty starring John Wayne and Miss Day of course – if I remember correct.
Just curious—does that film pre-date the Hitchcock movie?
Uh oh. I think I may be mixing movies together. What was the name of the Hitchcock one?
The Hitchcock movie is The Man Who Knew Too Much, from which the clip above is taken.
Well, my childhood movie imprints are plainly muddled and mixed up somewhere in the grey matter. I always liked that song too.
It would be cool to hear John Wayne sing “Que Sera, Sera,” or Doris Day sing “The Ballad of the Green Berets.” Oh wait–that was Barry Sadler, not John Wayne. Que Sera.
That was fun! When you were three someone sang that to you??? That’s cute!! Like the kid in the movie!!
Yeah my mom used to sing it to me. *Aw, shucks*
