First time I’ve seen a Belted Kingfisher here in Brooklyn!

Wow. How’d you spot it, and shoot a photo?
I was on a bird walk with the great, fun, knowledgeable birders of the Brooklyn Bird Club. The kingfisher was across the lake from us, on the branch, waiting to dive for fish. The compact camera I had with me, has an amazing zoom on it, but it was really too far to focus as well as I would have liked.
