“Last week I gave my personal remembrances on the death of political activist, organizer, thinker and writer Mitchel Cohen. I was able to find was a really extraordinary recording that was made by Mitchel and Robert Gold on a trip they took to Cuba in 1992. While they were there, they got to attend a kind of informal talk given by Assata Shakur, who, of course, was an American Black Panther, arrested by the police for murder, put in prison and then freed in a daring escape. From there she went to Cuba which welcomed her with open arms…”
