There are certain songs that are so startling when you hear them that you never forget where you first encountered them. I was in a large stark room filled with folding chairs in the early 1970s watching a bootleg video on a very small television screen set up in the middle of the room. The movie playing was Jimmy Cliff’s The Harder They Come, a movie as true in its sentiments now as it was then. This was the title song in a film filled with great songs. Click on the video to play.
