That’s funny. But, on the other hand, I do like the fact that old friends send me birthday messages because of Facebook. And so do…some loose acquaintances, now that you mention it!! (Got about 20 last year!) 😁
I agree, it’s kind of a broad and maybe easy target, and too one-sided to make the joke, but I thought it was funny. The concept of a “social media friend” though is pretty strange when you think about it. I don’t readily see any precedent. Even pen-pals were a lot more special; you had to write actual letters, and it took time to send and receive communications.
