I think the first time I heard it was on a Pete Seeger album where he sings it as Darlin’ Corey as well. But if you look on YouTube there are also a number of performance of Darling Cora. I don’t know if that’s a new innovation or not. Fascinating, I learned it from Pete Seeger and The Weavers, so that’s my early remembrance. I wasn’t trying to be a smart aleck, but early memories stick in my brain. When I sing, I make up different lyrics all the time, so I’m the most guilty one around!
