Tony Bennett Unplugged

Tony Bennett, one of the greats, as an artist, human being, and a New York City fixture for many years. He will be missed.

Towards the end of his life he was stricken by Alzheimer’s. According to Wikipedia, his son Danny said that “the Alzheimer’s was mainly affecting his father’s short term memory and that he would often forget he had just performed after a concert; his long term memory remained intact and he could still fully remember all the lyrics to his repertoire when performing.”

“Fly Me to the Moon,” without a mic.

Just In Time: Tony Bennett and Pacifica

Betty Comden and Adolph Green wrote the lyrics, and Jule Styne the music, for the Broadway show Bells Are Ringing. Tony Bennett does a great version of the song.

And well done, listener-sponsored radio network Pacifica, which yesterday turned in a smashing record-breaking one-day fundraiser total, just in time.

Celebrity Jeopardy

Alec Baldwin and Kate McKinnon have been hilarious with their recent Saturday Night Live Trump and Hillary  impressions, but I got to say I also had some laugh out loud  moments watching this SNL skit featuring  McKinnon’s Justin Bieber, and especially Baldwin’s take on Tony Bennett.
